CALOBA Leadership Update (March 6, 2025)

March 2025 - The Chinese American Lawyers of the Bay Area (CALOBA) is pleased to announce the election of a new president Jennifer Gilbert. President Hui (Harry) Wang has served a full two-year term and retired from this role, and in accordance with the bylaws, the Board of Directors has convened and elected Ms. Gilbert as the next president.

Under the leadership of Mr. Wang and with support of the Executive Team, CALOBA hosted numerous outstanding events that the members all enjoyed. Mr. Wang revitalized CALOBA’s membership growth post-COVID through community outreach initiatives. He strengthened ties with national bar associations while expanding CALOBA’s influence through close collaborations with government agencies, Bay Area law schools, and Silicon Valley professional organizations. As a result of his efforts, CALOBA has thrived as a leading Chinese American bar association nationwide.

Ms. Gilbert has served as VP of CALOBA for five years. She has made significant contributions to the community. Ms. Gilbert is an IP litigation attorney. She litigates complex intellectual property disputes, including patent infringement, trademark and trade secret cases. In 2021, Daily Journal named Ms. Gilbert to its Top 40 Under 40 list. She has also been recognized by Northern California Super Lawyers as a Rising Star every year from 2014-2022, and as a Super Lawyer since 2023. Ms. Gilbert brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the community. The Board is confident that under her leadership, CALOBA will continue to thrive and uphold its mission of supporting Chinese American legal professionals.
