Responsibilities

Ayla Networks, Inc. (“Ayla”), the world’s leading Internet of Things (“IoT”) provider, is seeking an experienced and motivated attorney to join its growing legal team. Key responsibilities include assisting the General Counsel and providing legal and compliance guidance and risk assessments on a full range of Platform-as-a-Service (“PaaS”), cloud, data privacy issues, negotiating commercial transactions and vendor contracts. In addition, defining best practices and providing internal training on various legal and compliance topics relating to the IoT industry will be an important aspect of the role. Experience/Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience at both a law firm and in a corporate legal department.
Significant legal experience with SaaS industry and technology transactions.
Significant experience with data security, privacy and other compliance issues pertinent to the IoT industry.
Minimum of 5 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with customers, partners and resellers of software products.
Good understanding of intellectual property issues in the context of licensing and other commercial transactions.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good understanding of business objectives and context.
Able to think out of the box for creative solutions that optimize both result and efficiency.
Able to drive consensus among different stakeholders.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines.
Excellent business and legal judgment.
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in the State of California.
Chinese or other language skills is a strong plus.
