Guest Speaker from Innovation Works (01/07/2012)

We are pleased to announce that a guest speaker from Beijing, Benjamin Qiu, will join our event.  He will share with us his insights on China’s venture capital and high-tech start-up markets from a legal and VC management perspective.

Ben was a member of CALOBA before he moved back to China in early 2006.  He currently serves as Senior Counsel and Fund Director at Innovation Works, a VC fund founded by Dr. Kai-Fu Lee with offices in Beijing and Shanghai. In this role, he advises portfolio companies in corporate and IP issues, and supervises fund formation, fund raising, and start-up financing processes.  Prior to joining Innovation Works, Ben worked as an attorney at Lovells LLP (now Hogan Lovells) in Beijing and Shanghai.  He specialized in IP strategy and protection, litigation, IP licensing, and corporate due diligence.  His biography is available at http://www.linkedin.com/pub/benjamin-qiu/7/834/941
